Dr. Arti Nanda, Daughter of the Soil, Becomes First Indian-Origin President of International Society of Pediatric Dermatology (ISPD)

In a landmark moment for India and a proud milestone for Jammu and Kashmir, Dr. Arti Nanda, an eminent pediatric dermatologist hailing from Reasi, has been unanimously elected President of the International Society of Pediatric Dermatology (ISPD).

She assumes the role following the successful tenure of outgoing President Dr. Amy Paller (USA).

The official transition of leadership took place at the World Congress of Pediatric Dermatology, held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from April 7 to April 11, 2025. Dr. Nanda will now lead the ISPD - a globally respected organization in the field of dermatology - for a four-year term spanning 2025 to 2029.

This election marks a historic moment, as Dr. Arti Nanda becomes the first person of Indian origin to be elected President of the ISPD in its illustrious history. Her elevation to this global leadership position is not only a personal triumph but also a matter of immense pride for the nation and the Indian medical fraternity.

Humble Beginnings, Stellar Journey

Dr. Nanda's rise to international acclaim is deeply rooted in her humble beginnings. Born in Jammu and raised in the small town of Reasi, located in the Jammu region of Jammu & Kashmir, she belongs to a respected Dogra family. She is the daughter of the late Shri Madhav Lal Nanda, a renowned lawyer, leader, and social activist, and Smt. Kailash Nanda, an esteemed educationist. J&K.
