The cases of two Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) officers— Suresh Chandra of the 1997 batch and Anil Kumar Paliwal of the 1994 batch—have caught considerable attention within administrative circles due to their unusual developments.

Two curious cases of RAS officers: Delays, defiance, and promotions

Suresh Chandra is currently serving as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the Election Department, a position he has held since July 2019.

During this tenure, he has overseen both Lok Sabha and Assembly elections. In September 2024, the new BJP government transferred him to the Housing Board as Secretary. However, Chandra never assumed the new role and continued to operate from the Election Department.
