Investors wealth reclaimed ₹400 L-cr mark after a month
DESPITE MIXED GLOBAL cues, benchmark indices recorded gains for the third consecutive session on Wednesday, driven primarily by a rally in metal shares following the government's decision to impose a 12% safeguard duty on certain steel imports. The Sensex rose 147.79 points, or 0.20%, to close at 75,449.05, while the Nifty gained 73.30 points, or 0.32%, ending the day above the 22,900 mark at 22,907.60. Over the past three sessions, both indices have risen by 2.19% and 2.28%, respectively.
