Reauthorisation likely for accounts of incapacitated investors
THE SECURITIES AND Exchange Board of India (Sebi) on Tuesday proposed to allow power of attorney (PoA) holders to operate an investor’s demat account/mutual fund folios in situations where the investor is physically incapacitated, but has the capacity to contract. The regulator issued a circular easing nomination norms after stakeholders had flagged operational challenges.
Sebi has invited public comments on these suggestions until April 7.
