Minister Says Qatar Also Keen on FTA with India

QATAR IS ALSO seeking a free trade agreement with India and the agreement with Oman will be finalised soon, commerce and industry minister Piyush Goyal said on Friday.
A Qatari delegation was on a two-day visit to New Delhi from August 27. The delegation was led by Qatar's Minister of State for Foreign Trade Affairs Ahmad bin Mohammed Al Sayed.
On Thursday, the Qatari minister met Goyal. Both sides discussed strengthening bilateral trade and investment and deepening cooperation across key sectors, including energy, infrastructure, pharma, food processing and fintech, the commerce minister had posted on 'X'.
The delegation from Qatar also held high-level stakeholders' meeting with the department of economic affairs.
