Lexus to explore mobility beyond cars

Toyota Motor Corporation has spun off Century as an exclusive ultra-luxury brand, allowing Lexus to chart its own course in the luxury automotive market.

Lexus President Takashi Watanabe tells Narayanan V that the brand is now free to explore opportunities beyond luxury cars and outlines the progress of its full electrification strategy by 2035. Excerpts:
How are the ongoing tariff issues impacting Lexus?
Most of the tariff regulations are coming from the US. As a global company, we already work closely with our regional partners to align production and supply chain needs. For Lexus, we have a factory in North America and dedicated models for the US market, and we're working closely with the region to adapt to any developments. From a global standpoint, we’ll continue collaborating with our regional teams now and in the future. But to your question — the tariff situation hasn’t led to any major changes for us yet.
Lexus plans to be a 100% EV brand by 2035. Where are you on that journey?
