India, EU Start Latest Round of FTA Talks

INDIA AND THE European Union (EU) began their fresh round of talks on the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) on Monday as both sides aim to wrap up the negotiations by the end of this year.
This is the 13th round of formal negotiations on the FTA which began in June 2022. In recent months the engagement between the top leadership of both sides has also intensified as they work to see the agreement pass the finish line before the deadline set on February 28 this year.
Before the start of the round, commerce secretary Sunil Barthwal visited Brussels for talks with his counterpart in the European Commission.
