Guaranteed return plans against very nature of mkts: Sebi

INTEGRITY AND TRANSPARENCY of the equity markets is paramount and retail investors should be shielded from digital fraudsters who promise guaranteed returns, said Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) chairman Tuhin Kanta Pandey on Monday.

“Fraudsters prey on this human tendency, eroding not just an individual’s hard-earned savings but also their trust. When trust is broken, people are reluctant to invest, savings remain unproductive, and cost of capital rises,” Pandey said at the World Investor Week global campaign at the National Stock
