BIRDS living in a seaside town’s aviary are to be humanely culled after testing positive for bird flu.

Dawlish Town Council said it had been notified by the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) that several birds in the Dawlish aviary, as well as some of the iconic black swans that had recently passed away, tested positive for highly-pathogenic avian influenza strain H5N1.
