GARY Caldwell says he made decisions on Exeter City’s out of contract players before the League One season had concluded with Saturday's 3-0 defeat at Mansfield Town.
Eight players, including Academy graduate Cheick Diabate and Exeter-born Ben Purrington will be leaving St James Park. The others are goalkeeper Shaun MacDonald, defenders Vincent Harper, Angus MacDonald and youngsters Mitch Beardmore, Gabe Billington and Max Edgecombe.
Contracts have been offered to Caleb Watts, Jake Richards, Pedro Borges and goalkeepers Harry Lee and Frankie Phillips, while options have been triggered on the contracts of strikers Jay Bird and Josh Magennis.
Defender Johnly Yfeko’s loan move from Rangers has now been made permanent with City paying an undisclosed fee for his services.
Pat Jones, Kevin McDonald, Demetri Mitchell and Yanic Wildschut have been invited back for pre-season training, while first year professional deals have been offered to George Birch, Liam Oakes and Kieran Wilson from the Under-18s.
Joel Colwill, Alex Hartridge, Ryan Trevitt, Joe Whitworth, Tony Yogane were on loan and will return to their parent clubs.
