CONTE’S BLAST AS HIS SIDE FLOP AGAIN AGAINST RIVALS
ANTONIO CONTE says Tottenham's 2-0 defeat at Manchester United last night proves they are still a long way from being title contenders, after another game in which they struggled to match one of the Premier League's "monsters".
Spurs had goalkeeper Hugo Lloris to thank for keeping the scoreline respectable, as second-half goals from Fred and Bruno Fernandes earned United a deserved victory in a one-sided contest.
It was Spurs's second domestic defeat of the season, following the 3-1 reverse at Arsenal this month, while they snatched a last-gasp 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge in August in their only other meeting with a big-six rival this season.
Conte says Spurs still struggle in highlevel games against top opposition and that he needs more time to turn the squad into winners.
