'We'll do whatever is necessary to safeguard Rwanda plan'

"WHATEVER is necessary" will be done to ensure the Government's Rwanda deportation plan is made safe from legal challenge under new emergency legislation, a minister said today.
Rishi Sunak was facing mounting pressure from both Conservative Right-wingers and centrists as they await the promised Rwanda legislation which will accompany a newly signed treaty with the East African nation.
Combined, the measures are intended to address judicial concerns that saw the Supreme Court deem the Prime Minister's flagship asylum policy unlawful last month, undermining his plan to "stop the boats" crossing the Channel.
