Footsie's sideways performance highlighted in mid-year report

MID-YEAR reports on the world’s leading stock markets made frustrating reading today as London investors digested a sideways FTSE 100 performance.
The blue-chip benchmark wrapped up the first six months 28.57 points higher at 7500.26, leaving it only marginally better off than the 7452 at the end of 2022.
In contrast, leading indices in Frankfurt and Paris stood more than 10% higher and the Nasdaq Composite up 30% as the potential of AI boosts leading tech stocks.
The S&P 500 index is also 15% higher, a recovery from 2022 weakness that has been driven by a handful of mega-caps such as Meta Platforms.
