HAMAS needs to be “obliterated,” a minister said today as Israel was stepping up its ground attacks into Gaza
Skills minister Robert Halfon backed Israel’s right to defend itself after the terror group’s slaughter of more than 1,400 people in the south of the country.
“What happened on October 7 was the worst ever attack against Jews since the Holocaust. We always say never again yet it has happened again,” he told Times Radio. “So Israel has to do everything possible to ensure that Hamas is obliterated, not just for Israel but for the well-being of the Palestinian people as well.”
Health chiefs in Gaza say more than 8,000 people have been killed in the strip since October 7, after Israel unleashed wave after wave of air and now ground attacks. The accuracy of this figure has not been independently verified but the huge death toll and widespread destruction is evident from reports, footage and photos from the enclave.
