Remembrance is important, and so is action

On Sunday, I laid the wreath at a Remembrance ceremony at the Prestonfield War Memorial.

The memorial, which was completed in 1950, was built by local residents to commemorate those from the area who went to war and never returned. It was the first time I had taken my five-year-old daughter to a remembrance service, and I was struck by how she was captured by the solemnity of the event poignantly taken by Pauline Robertson from Newington Trinity Church.
