In the wild, rabbits live in underground burrows, which stay warm in winter and cool in the summer.

But as pets they spend a lot more time above ground, which is why it's important for owners to find ways to help their bunnies stay warm when the temperatures drop.

PDSA Vet Emma Fisher said: "Our small pets feel the cold too - often even more than dogs and cats, even if they're used to living outside. You can make their winter a warm one by following our top tips - Outdoor rabbits: "If temperatures drop, or the weather turns really harsh, we'd always advise to bring your rabbits inside to a quiet area (somewhere that's not right next to a radiator). If you're not able to bring them into your home, you could keep them in a well-sheltered shed or garage. Keep their hutch out of rain and snow.
