Rehab services are helping to transform lives of patients

NHS Dumfries and Galloway has been raising awareness of the difference rehabilitation services make to the region’s patients - and can transform lives.

As part of rehabilitation awareness week, staff welcomed national leaders in the field to the region including Anne Wallace AHP professional advisor to the Scottish Government; Carolyn McDonald, chief AHP officer for Scottish Government; and John Cowman, who is CEO of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.

They highlighted how staff - including: physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, social workers, dietitians and many other members of the allied health professions community - work together in Dumfries and Galloway so patients can make a full recovery and return to leading an active life.
