AS Burton Albion's new League One season kicks into gear, James Reid of the Press Association has compiled an article about 10 players to look out for this season in the third tier.

Ten to watch in League One - well, it's nine without Rumarn

Some you will have heard of, some not, but it makes for an interesting read. Here are nine of them. Unfortunately, the 10th he singled out was a striker called Rumarn Burrell. Oh well...

Niall Ennis, Blackpool

Under Steve Bruce, Blackpool will hope to be a force and Ennis will be the man charged with scoring the goals to fire them back into the Championship.

It is a role 2020-21 season Burton loanee Ennis has done before, when he netted 12 for Plymouth Argyle as they won League One in 2023.

Moves to Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City did not work out in the Championship but Ennis has proved his ability at League One level.

A loan spell at Bloomfield Road in the second half of last season was a good case of try before you buy for Blackpool, with Ennis netting seven times in 19 games.

Benony Breki Andresson, Stockport County

An Icelandic teenager rocking up at Stockport County is a reflection of how they now do things at Edgeley Park and the Hatters may well have unearthed a gem in Andrésson.

The 20-year-old smashed in 30 goals in 51 games for Icelandic side KR before joining Stockport in December.

He was eased into the rigours of the English third tier but made a strong impact off the bench as Stockport finished in the playoffs and scored four times iun 13 appearances.

The teenager will now hope for a bigger role in County's new-look forward line as they eye another promotion push.

Phoenix Patterson, Stevenage

A diminutive winger willing to take on his man, Patterson could be the key to unlocking Stevenage's attack.

They struggled for goals last season but hope Patterson's threat out wide can provide the service their strikers need.
