POLICE APPEAL TO PUBLIC FOR FOOTAGE AS FAMILY AND FOOTIE CLUB PAY TRIBUTE TO 'DJ'

THREE people have been arrested on suspicion of murdering Dale Martin, with police now linking the stabbing to an earlier incident at a city pub.

Mr Martin - known to friends and family as DJ - was stabbed in Stenson Road in Littleover at 11.45pm on Sunday.

The 21-year-old, from Derby, was pronounced dead a short while later in hospital.

Yesterday, police arrested a 16-year-old boy, a 22-year-old man and a 26-year-old man on suspicion of murder.

Four other people, two men aged 18 and 20 and two women aged 18 and 54, were earlier arrested in connection with the incident and have since been released on bail.

Police are also investigating a “linked incident” that took place at The Oaklands pub on Oaklands Avenue in Littleover earlier in the evening.

At around 6pm, officers were called to reports of men carrying knives.

No one was injured at this location, but police would like to speak to anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage around that time in the area of Oaklands Avenue.
