Help to make it a happy Christmas for strays, plead charity

THE nation’s leading cat welfare charity has highlighted the plight of cats facing Christmas in rescue centres, including those in Derbyshire.

Cats Protection has adopted a 12 Strays of Christmas theme to highlight the plight of thousands of cats who, through no fault of their own, have been given up or abandoned this year.

They include Artois, who arrived at Cats Protection’sDerbyshire Cat Centre in Ashbourne after living in a garden with 11 other cats, five of which were her kittens.

Despite a rocky start to life, the two-year-old is proving herself to be a friendly soul whose personality means she is likely to settle in many kinds of family setups.
