Duke visits Arboretum to honour Malta’s efforts during World War Two

HIS Royal Highness The Duke of Gloucester paid a visit to the National Memorial Arboretum for a special ceremony honouring the brave people of Malta in World War II.

The nation's year-round place to remember hosted the event last week to honour those who defended and supplied Malta in the Second World War, and remember the brave people of Malta who endured great suffering.
Prince Richard, Duke of Gloucester KG, GCVO, and His Excellency Professor Stephen Montefort, High Commissioner of Malta GC in London, attended the service.
The island of Malta was awarded the George Cross by King George VI for bravery in holding out against a German and Italian siege from 1940 to 1942.
