Albion brushed aside as Luton show they still have real class

BURTON Albion found themselves outclassed by Luton Town at the Pirelli Stadium, the twice-relegated former Premier League side completing a comfortable 3-0 win.

The Brewers worked hard and had their share of possession but everything Luton did was quicker and their finishing was clinical it was clear how far Albion still have to go.
The Brewers made one change from the starting lineup from the Stockport County game, Dylan Williams starting ahead of Kegs Chauke, who had taken a knock last week but was named on the bench.
In the Luton lineup were Millenic Alli, scorer of a brilliant winner for Exeter City against Burton in Gary Bowyer's first game in charge last season, and former Derby County loan striker Jerry Yates.
There was alarm for the Brewers in the opening seconds when Jordan Amissah's first clearance was charged down but the ball did not fly goalwards. Yates picked it up outside the box but his cross was cleared.
JJ McKiernan went down on a run down the left in the fifth minute and needed treatment, the referee immediately summoning the Burton physios on. But he was OK to continue and no free kick was given.
Within seconds, Jake Beesley also needed treatment, a lengthier delay, followed by a discussion with Bowyer and he did not immediately return.
It turned out that he was having stitches in the dressing room for a gash to his foot.
These were testing minutes for Burton, continuing with 10 men for a considerable time.
There had been little happening in the game but Luton's extra man told in the 18th minute when Lasse Nordas was picked out on the left of the box and his shot from 20 yards went under Amissah to give the visitors the lead. It looked like an embarrassing moment for the goalkeeper.
Beesley returned to the game but the Brewers were struggling to settle and Amissah had another kick charged down, doing little for his confidence.
