YouTuber IShowSpeed made the Kaap mal with visit as Tyla partied it up for New Year
POPULAR Youtuber and livestream sensation IShowSpeed made the Mother City mal when he made a Kaapse turn over New Year.
The 20-year-old internet personality, whose real name is Darren Jason Watkins Jr, touched down in Cape Town as part of his "Speed Does Africa" tour, a 28-day livestream journey across 20 African countries.
He was welcomed to the Mother City by Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis.
Sharing a video of their maltrap interaction Hill-Lewis took to Instagram and said: "IShowSpeed, welcome to Cape Town." Speed went live in the New Year from one of the Kaap's most iconic locations, drawing thousands of viewers from across the globe, as fans tuned in and turned up to celebrate the countdown with him in real time.
