Manenberg family in mourning after gran is run over on 'deadly' Duinefontein route

A CRY for safer traffic measures along Duinefontein Road has been made after a Manenberg ouma died tragically when a taxi crashed into her on Monday night.

Tears flowed at the scene on the corners of Duinefontein Road and Jordaan Street as the devastated family of Louise Diedericks, 50, gathered.

Daughter Laeeqah Swartz, 29, says they rushed to the scene after being informed that the mom of four and ouma of three was injured.

An emotional Laeeqah shares: “My mom was on her way home from work when the accident happened.

“I was at home and when we heard I ran to the scene with my friends, but they had already covered her face.
