Sassa introduces eLife

SASSA has introduced the eLife Certification self-service platform, allowing grant recipients to confirm their eligibility.

The digital system allows beneficiaries to fulfill the legal requirement of proving they are still alive using biometric verification, helping to prevent the inconvenience of a suspension of social grants and long visits to local offices.

Under the Social Assistance Act, life certification is mandatory, a process used to protect public funds from fraud.
