THE Proteas slumped to a record-breaking 276-run defeat to Australia in the third and final ODI against Australia in Mackay yesterday.

The victory was a mere consolation for the hosts though after South Africa had already won the series last Friday.

After being bowled out cheaply in the first two matches, the Aussies' powerful batting unit finally struck form with Travis Head (142 off 103 balls, 17x4, 5x6), Mitchell Marsh (100 off 106 balls, 6x4, 5x6) and Cameron Green (118 not out off 55 balls) all striking jitz centuries.
