Liverpool look bang average

HELLO my good football people... I hope you had a great weekend! I was travelling and catching games where I could. I think the pick of the bunch had to be Crystal Palace v Liverpool on Saturday.

Liverpool look bang average

I'm wondering if I'll get a couple of messages of apology, the accusation that I know f**k all about football because I dared to suggest Liverpool weren't worth their top-spot value in the Premier League.

Look, of course I'm a bit annoying sometimes because I take aim at my enemies when I can and Liverpool happens to be one of them. But the reality is (and a couple of my Scouse mates feel the same) they've been fortunate a few times to get results this season.

I still believe things are going to click and we'll see the kind of Reds from last season. But at the moment, they are very average.

There are number of players who are playing well below their best, including the likes of Mohamed Salah, while the inclusion of Florian Wirtz seems to be further disrupting the flow.

It's almost like Arne Slot is now just attempting to shoehorn him in the middle of the park at the expense of a more stable recognisable four, to give the youngster a chance to find his feet.

Interesting

In the meantime (and it's what champions do) they've got away with a great start (on paper) while the team in general finds it's feet.
