Dêrra in court for forcing tot to down beer

THE toppie of a four-year old laaitie who was arrested on a charge of child abuse after a video surfaced of him allegedly forcing his klong to drink beer, was remanded into prison cells until his next court date, and activists are calling for more people to be held accountable.

Last week the Department of Social Development (DSD) removed four children between the ages of seven months and 11-year-old from the Tafelsig home in Mitchells Plain.

The man, who may not be identified, made his first appearance at the Mitchells Plain magistrate's court on Monday on a charge of child abuse.

The matter was postponed to 8 December while the father remains toegekap at Pollsmoor Prison.
