Look, I try not to mix politics with football... but FFS, sometimes it’s so hard to write about the beautiful game when there’s such serious sh!t going on around the world.

But anyway, briefly, because there's football related questions involved, here goes.

Why are the United States even considered to host the World Cup (football next year, rugby a year later)?

This while they are complicit in massive military action on multiple fronts, are a target for so many countries and groups and are restricting over 40 countries’ citizens from traveling to and from the US.
