City to reopen community pools on weekdays

PUBLIC pools on the Cape Flats will be open during the week after complaints from civic organisations and ratepayers.

SWIM: Cape Flats pools will be open in the week

Mense wrote to the City of Cape Town after pools were only open at the weekends in underserved areas, while pools in the Atlantic Seaboard region were accessible all week.

The parties included Bonteheuwel Development Forum, Cape Town Commons Collective, Observatory Civic Association, Reclaim the City and the Woodstock Residents' Association (WRA) with its petition receiving over 600 signatures.
