Boland wildfires destroy larney Laborie Estate

LABORIE Estate in Paarl has been closed following a fire on Saturday, 21 December 2025, that resulted in the loss of Giovanni's Restaurant and eight Werf accommodation rooms.

The estate said it was "deeply saddened by the incident, but above all, relieved to confirm that no injuries were reported and that all individuals on site are safe."

It extended its "sincere thanks to the firefighters, emergency services, and first responders for their swift and professional response, as well as to the wider community for their support."

"The cause of the fire is currently under investigation," the estate added.
