Nobody enjoys a toothache. But for the Ancient Egyptians, the available treatment wasn't much better. They believed you could cure dental pain by applying a dead mouse to the affected tooth or gum. The unlucky rodent would either be sliced in half or ground to a paste.

A FINE METH

Hypochondriac Adolf Hitler was terrified of getting sick. He employed a team of doctors to monitor his health and give him treatments like vitamin injections - often laced with crystal meth.

Observers said they kept him "fresh, alert and immediately ready for the day."

MILKING IT
