THE SIGNS POINT TO SYMBOL

CHARLIE APPLEBY and Godolphin have already had a brilliant start to the season and | reckon we're going to see that fine form continue at Newbury today.

In the Carnarvon Stakes, we have an exciting three-year-old sprint contest and the data suggests that SYMBOL OF HONOUR (1.25) could be the one to keep an eye on, dropped back to six furlongs.

He twice won very impressively over six furlongs at Meydan in the winter but made a disappointing return to English soil in the King Charles II Stakes at Newmarket two weeks ago.

That was run over seven furlongs and | think his raw speed was blunted trying to stay the extra furlong.

He ran too keenly to begin and then, when asked to quicken, he was unable to respond.
