THE Lionesses put on a typical Three Lions show by subjecting the nation to a World Cup nerve-shredder only this time they won.

England's women beat Nigeria 4-2 on penalties in their last 16 tie Down Under.

But along the way they put seven million fans watching on TV through the wringer.

Offices ground to a halt, workers went for lunch early and pubs filled with fans as the drama unfolded.
