Arteta faces big call on Gyokeres after Raya's left to save the day

- BY NEIL MCLEMAN

SUMMIT HAS GOT TO GIVE

Raya's save from Brighton's Yankuba Minteh BAD LOOK Viktor Gyokeres sees the game's finish from the bench at the Emirates

ARSENAL returned to the top of the Premier League thanks to their goalkeeper - and not their big-money centre-forward.

And now Mikel Arteta has to decide if Viktor Gyokeres will still lead the line tomorrow against fellow title challengers Aston Villa.

Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler claimed David Raya is “one of the best goalkeepers in the world” after the Spaniard’s stunning late save from Yankuba Minteh secured a nervy win for the Gunners.

But after dominating the first hour, the three points and a calmer finale should have been long assured.

Former Seagulls striker Gyokeres had a clear early chance. But his side-footed effort was more like a backpass.

And the £64m summer signing was replaced by Gabriel Jesus after a frustrating 71 minutes where he was just not on the same wavelength as his teammates.
