Rory wants epic Europe show to live in memory

RORY McILROY has claimed the fallout over US fan behaviour at the Ryder Cup has overshadowed Team Europe's “incredible performance”.

The Masters champion (inset) and his teammates were subjected to constant abuse as Luke Donald's team triumphed at Bethpage Black in New York last month.

The MC on the first tee resigned after encouraging vulgar chanting - and the president of the PGA of America personally apologised to Mcllroy and his wife Erica after the dramatic 15-13 win.
