POLICE chiefs have written to the Home Secretary to push for changes in the law around offensive statements made online.

The three senior figures penned a letter to Shabana Mahmood following a row over the arrest of Father Ted co-creator Graham Linehan last week.

The writer was stopped at Heathrow and arrested over three X posts about trans issues.
