Starmer & Macron reach migrant deal

SIR Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron last night agreed a “one-in, one-out” migrant plan in a bid to halt Channel crossings.

The PM said the pilot scheme would help to “finally turn the tables” on the migrant crisis.

Under the pilot project, people arriving on a small boat can be detained and returned immediately to France. But those who are legally entitled to claim asylum from a troubled home country will be allowed here in a one-for-one swap.
