Farrell kept motivated by memories of big defeats

LIAM FARRELL will play in his 10th Grand Final tomorrow but the Wigan Warriors stalwart admits his motivation to continue isn't winning, but the fear of losing.

Farrell was part of the Wigan side that was victorious at Old Trafford in 2010 and he will be hoping to get a seventh winners ring this weekend when the Warriors battle it out with Hull KR.

However, the three defeats at the Theatre of Dreams are what ultimately drive the 35-year-old, none more so than the Warriors’ dramatic loss to St Helens in 2020 when Jack Welsby (inset) scored the winner after the hooter.
