NICKY HENDERSON cried tears of joy as Constitution Hill made a sensational debut on the flat at a packed Southwell last night.

The 2023 champion hurdler was the star attraction in the £40,000 SBK Road To Cheltenham Novice Stakes after his jumping career was put on hold due to three falls.

Win, lose or dead-heat, racing fans turned out in their droves to see him and the crowd - the biggest one ever for a Friday night - was five-deep at the parade ring before the 1m 4f contest.
