JAVI GRACIA resigned as Watford head coach despite the club's belief that he was still the “right man’ for the job.

The Spaniard (above) only returned to Vicarage Road in October but held a meeting with the board yesterday morning to call time on his second spell in charge, with Watford claiming he “no longer had the motivation”.

The Hornets said they were “sad and disappointed" to confirm Gracia's departure following their 2-0 defeat by Swansea on Saturday, which leaves them 10th in the Championship.
