HOOD DOUBLES DOWN TO ROCK JOSH

A STAR was born on the Ally Pally stage yesterday as Justin Hood produced one of the greatest performances in World Championship history.

World No.68 Hood, who is making his debut at these worlds, stunned No.11 seed Josh Rock 4-0 with a display of such quality that he landed a record 11 doubles in a row.

Only when he was throwing for the match did he miss his first double, before making no mistake two legs later.

Hood, from Somerset, was unstoppable - and credit to Rock, too, whose sportsmanship was at its finest as he watched on and smiled at times at his opponent's near-perfect display.
