FONDOP FANCIES HE CAN BEAT BRYAN

MIKE FONDOP is rolling his sleeves up for a goal battle with Bryan Mbeumo as he spearheads Oldham’s return to League Two.

Fondop set himself the challenge of matching his fellow Cameroonian’s tally when Mbeumo (inset) was at Brentford last season.

And having done so in netting 20 in all competitions, as he played a key role in Oldham’s promotion from the National League, Fondop has Manchester United’s £71m signing in his sights again.

“As a striker from Cameroon myself, whenever he was playing on Match of the Day, I’d be watching,” said Fondop, 31, (right).
