Lam still on Leigh menu with new deal all sorted

LEIGH owner Derek Beaumont says a new deal with star half-back Lachlan Lam is "all sorted" and insisted: "Why would he leave?

Speculation about the Papua New Guinea ace has been rife with talk of a return to the NRL and Super League leaders Hull KR also keen on his services.

The ex-Sydney Roosters playmaker is out of contract at the end of the season but his dad and Leopards head coach Adrian Lam hinted last week he's staying.

And Beaumont (inset), who starts Ireland's 600 miles Wild Atlantic Way cycle challenge in aid of Candlelighters on Monday, believes a new two-year deal until the end of 2027 is ready to be signed by one of Super League's biggest stars.
