TIGHT-LIPPED partners are keeping secret stashes of cash tucked away in the bank.

Among the 47% of couples with hidden accounts, the average pot was £6,495.

But those aged 55 and over have nearly £12,500 put away, according to the Aviva research.

Some people said they wanted the money to pay for a holiday or a surprise gift for their partner.
