The 29-year-old featherweight appeared comfortably ahead of Cristobal Lorente by five rounds to one in what was seen as a world title eliminator at Glasgow's Braehead Arena when he had a rush of blood and allowed the slow-starting Spaniard back in.

Six rounds later, the judges declared a split draw - one card per fighter at 115-113 and a 114-114 draw on the other. It left Collins dismayed.
