It's all-electric, fun and with bags of character

Renault seems to have got the electric car just right with the new R5. Its retro styling, funky interior design and low price have made it a hit with UK buyers. Now the French firm has decided to bring back another famous name plate with an electric Renault 4.

WHAT'S NEW?

The original sold more than eight million worldwide - but this new car is a totally different offering, expected to rival the likes of the Volvo EX30 and Kia EV3.

It shares the same AmpR Small Platform with the R5 supermini, but has a slightly bigger wheelbase allowing more space inside. Also it's the first Renault to feature a one-pedal drive function, so you can travel using the accelerator, lifting off the pedal to activate regenerative braking to a complete stop while putting power back into the battery.

You also have the option of an electric canvas roof.
