'YOU CAN'T NOT FEEL EMOTIONAL'

Dominic Chinea promises more tear-jerking stories as The Repair Shop returns

Working in The Repair Shop can be a challenging and emotional job — but reports that Dominic Chinea is quitting the show are, thankfully, bunkum.

“I'm not leaving The Repair Shop,” says Dominic firmly. “I'm still very much part of the family of The Repair Shop. I'll be there as long as they'll have me.”

Dominic's success on the Bafta-winning series has won him a legion of fans and he's got several new shows in the pipeline. But nothing will lure him away from his friends in the barn.

“I've been part of the show from the start, January 2017 we started,” shares Dominic. “I can’t believe it’s that long now. We were looking at the first episode of the first series and we all look so much younger, it's so funny to reminisce back to those early days. I’ve not quit. We don’t film all year round and I'm very fortunate to do other things. But I’m very much still part of the family.”

Instead the show is gearing up for its next Christmas Special and planning how to celebrate its 10-year anniversary in 2027. “We're getting on for 10 years now,” says Dominic proudly. “We've done a few specials and obviously we've just had the Christmas special. We're already looking for items for next year’s Christmas special and gearing up to start filming fairly soon.”
