Quizmaster nets £52,000 prize with help of comedian Bill

- DOUGLAS WALKER

WHEEL OF FORTUNE

A SCOT won £52,000 on The Wheel thanks to Bill Bailey and will use the cash to look after his sick mum.

Billy Young scooped the money on Michael McIntyre’s quiz show on Saturday night.

After his win, Billy, from Dunoon, Argyll, told how he was inundated with messages of congratulations.

He said: "To say I'm overwhelmed is an understatement.

"Thank you so much to everyone who has supported me since last night.

"The response has been so amazing and totally beyond anything I could have expected.

"I am so grateful and so lucky to have gotten this opportunity.

It's still surreal but at least I got Dunoon on the map."

Comic Bill, 60, correctly advised Billy that Sherlock Holmes had been played by the most actors on TV and film on a multiple-choice question.
