UNITED SET TO APPEAL VICKO'S RED
Daily Record
|September 16, 2025
DUNDEE UNITED are to appeal Vicko Sevelj’s weekend red card after Jim Goodwin dubbed the decision “quite incredible’.
The Croat was sent off after VAR had intervened and asked referee Dan McFarlane to look at footage which had shown he had handled the ball, after he had been pushed by his own keeper.
The official awarded the penalty and gave Sevelj a straight red card.
United officials have since reviewed the incident and were unsure whether to appeal but now they have decided to challenge the decision.
It is now expected to be heard by an SFA fast-track tribunal later this week, which has the power to downgrade or upgrade the initial punishment.
Goodwin said: “I would hate to be a defender in the modern day game and I wouldnt enjoy being a ref either, having to come to decisions on things that are so subjective.
